Granblue Fantasy X Love Live! Sunshine!! Crossover Event Grants Up to Three Free SSR Characters

Cygames has launched the previously announced Love Live! Sunshine!! crossover event in its popular mobile game Granblue Fantasy.

The event brings the popular protagonists of the school idol anime to the fantasy world of Granblue Fantasy, and it’s actually one of the richest events the game has seen in a while.

By completing a single chapter of the event story you’ll get the anime’s second-year girls (Chika Takami, Riko Sakurauchi, and You Watanabe) bundled in a single SSR character. By dropping treasures in the event’s quests and raids you’ll also be able to unlock two more SSRs, the first-year girls (Ruby Kurosawa, Hanamaru Kunikida, and Yoshiko Tsushima), and the third-year girls (Dia Kurosawa, Kanan Matsuura, and Mari Ohara). This means that the event gives players a chance to earn a whopping three SSR characters without even touching the gacha.

You’ll also get a chance to vote which among them will get the fifth uncap, and I’ll let you guess who I voted for. Let’s see if you know me.

As standard for Granblue Fantasy’s insane (at least for a mobile game) production values, the event will come with its own artwork, a fully voice-acted story, and music.

It will run until August 21st.

Granblue Fantasy recently celebrated passing 21 million players. More crossover events are also coming. We also heard that the console game for PS4 Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link will get another reveal between December 15th and December 16th, when the developer will host Cygames Fes at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo.

While the game is technically available only in Japan for iOS, Android, and PC via browsers, it’s actually localized in English and playable worldwide. You can read how to install it and play in hour handy guide.
