So You’re Wondering How to Get That Fallout 76 ‘Take Me Home Country Road’ Cover

Bethesda, e3 2018, Fallout 76, John Denver, News, Originals, PC, Platforms, PS4, Take Me Home Country Road, Xbox One

Since the Fallout 76 teaser trailer released, fans of the series (and of good music in general) have been combing the internet to find out where to listen to that heavenly cover of John Denver’s Take Me Home Country Road. Thankfully, Bethesda has taken note and is not only releasing the cover on iTunes but also looking to raise some money for charity in the process.

For context, you can check out the song alongside the trailer below.

Beginning July 4, fans can purchase the cover (via iTunes) and 100 percent of the proceeds will be going to Habitat for Humanity–a worldwide not-for-profit organization devoted to local communities–much in-line with the spirit of Fallout 76 itself: “when the bombs drop, and the fallout settles, you will rebuild.” God Ron Perlman really does it for me.

The cover seems to blend the Ink Spots’ I Don’t Want to Set The World On Fire that we’ve grown used to, from Fallout 3 and New Vegas, while giving us something new and getting us ready for the patriotic and renewed sense of Manifest Destiny that the game seems to be alluding to. After all, we’ve been to D.C., California, and Boston. This is our first shot at the green pastures that the settlers spoke of.

Fallout 76 will release on November 14 for Xbox One, PC, and PS4. You can find out more about Fallout 76, including news from Bethesda’s E3 Press Conference, here.
